PIEZOMODULO

Piezoelectric materials are used in piezoelectric devices, which market has significantly grown over the last years. In 2015, the piezo-devices market was valued at approximately €4 billion, and it is projected to double to €8 billion by 2024. The primary objective of the PIEZOMODULO project is to conduct an in-depth investigation of the physicochemical properties of PZT materials using a multiscale modelling approach. The goal of this research is to enhance the functionality of piezoelectric materials by exploring the underlying mechanisms that govern their behavior at the atomic scale. The team behind the project is determined to gain a deep understanding of the dielectric and mechanical properties of piezoelectric materials, as well as their other physicochemical properties, to improve the energy efficiency of the piezoelectric materials.
